He shot to fame as the male lead on the scandalous ’90s soap Melrose Place.

But these days, former heart-throb Andrew Shue looks very different from his time on the outrageous Fox series.

Appearing on Australia’s The Morning Show on Wednesday, the 54-year-old looked handsome and distinguished compared to his fresh-faced character Billy Campbell.

Speaking to hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies, Andrew reflected on his fame and reminisced about his time as a household name.

‘The world has changed now, it’s a lot tougher being a celebrity these days,’ he said.

‘The scrutiny is so much worse, so I feel lucky that it happened at that point.’

‘It was a fantasy world for sure. We came off of the heels of [Beverly Hills] 90210 and it was just a lot of fun,’ he added.

‘It was a campy show, but at that time it was a real conversation at the water cooler every day. It was fun to be part of it.’

Andrew also admitted his now-wife Amy Robach was a fan of Melrose Place hunk Jake Hanson, played by Grant Show, but not of his character Billy.

He then joked he made it his ‘life goal’ to win Amy over after finding out about her crush on Jake.
