The late Rodion Ruslanovich Amirov aka Rodion Amirov was born on October 2, 2001, in Salavat, Russia, and better known as a Russian professional ice hockey forward who played with Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the Kontinental Hockey League. He was drafted in the first round, 15th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Amirov agreed to a three-year entry-level contract with the draft club, the Toronto Maple Leafs on April 15, 2021. He immediately moved to North America, to be assigned to the Maple Leafs AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, for the remainder of the 2020–21 season.
